This is the third music video I'll be analysing. This song is made by Krept and Konan who are well known artist in the UK coming from south London.
The song is a soundtrack for the film brotherhood and the word 'Dunya' is an Arabic word meaning for world but people in the younger generation know this word for meaning hood. The song is sending a message out to the people in general but also those with authority to do something about what is really going on with black Afro Caribbeans and the police whereas many have been killed without a proper explanation. So The duo Krept and Konan address this issue in the music video through acting & turning the situation the opposite way.
Mise en scene
The main location that is used in this video to send this message is the streets of London. The men that are in uniform of a police officer have more authority than the the other two men (Krept and Konan) that are in casual clothing and this is nothing unusual as they are police but in the scene of them stopping Krept and Konan the police man abuses his authority and ends up using his gun, as he apparently thinks he has a weapon. This addresses the issues with police carrying guns in the United States especially especially. Later on in the music video there are people walking around with a David Cameron mask on intimidating the police man and he does nothing and people kept on giving the police man trouble example in the shop.
Camera
In the scene where krept and konan get stopped by the police there is a establishing shot, showing where they are. There's a mid shot as soon as the police stop the two young men you see krept (with long hair) sigh in distress, the way he directs his head and his body posture show that he may get this a lot & all these connotations are shown through this mid shot. There's a reverse shot reverse as konan struggles with the other police man as the police man pulls out the gun there's a mid shot looking up at the angle konan was on the floor then a close shot showing konan's face in shock, then as he shoots the gun a blackout effect is used along with the sound, this creates suspense. Also the camera work creates 'pure reality' (Goodwin) most especially at the beginning of the song when the tv is on and they are listining to the news about what is going on in america which the camera does a shot reverse shot to show 'krepts' facial expression which he looks disgusted by and these estblishing shots set the mode of the story as you expect these act that they saw on Tv to happen. Also some mid shots at the beginning are aesthetically pleasing to the male audience as it sexualises the women as they are half naked this is another aspect of 'pure reality' as it convey's the rapper's life.
Krept and Konan getting annoyed.
Target audience
The target audience for 'Dunya' is grime fans even though the instrumental has a piano sound the artist are originally grime artist. Also the target audience are people who have an issue as they feel that police abuse their power as this is addressed throughout the song. Generally the age for this video are young adults.
Ideas I could use from video

Ideas I could use from video
- Create a video on polictical correctness (race)
- Use of narrative throughout the video but not as much speech
- Cutting rate varieties ( constant changes)
- Apply attire with genre (urban fashion with grime/rap genre)
